disassembly: removing the bolt, cleaning, and autoclave
sterilize between uses. Simply rotate the Depth Dial
until the bolt stops moving upwards then gently pull
the bolt up to remove the bolt completely.

Two variables influence how far the
needles stick out the tip for the Threaded Compact Swashdrive.
First is Stroke length.
The distance the needle actually travels in one
direction which is user selectable from 1mm to
6mm by rotating the Swashplate dial.
Second
is the hand
piece adjustment by the Depth Dial, the top
rotating part,
designed to increase or decrease the position of the
cartridge relative to the needle.
Set-up is
versatile and intuitive.
Stroke length (the distance the
needles travel in mm's) is set by the Swashplate mechanism on
the top of the machine. Select a 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6mm stroke.
Instruction: First rotate the entire Swashplate so
that the white line beneath the dial
faces forward. This is the down-position.
Open the U-shape
lock to upright position. Hold the Imprinted plate "COMPACT" so
it doesn't move. Rotate the dial to
a mm number ("3" for example) and press the
U-lock back down to set.
Insert the Drive Bar titanium plunger-part
of the Rigid or Give Drive Bar into the
empty vice-grip chuck. Push the
open joint-part of the plastic
piece onto the Rose-Joint Ball
to attach the Drive Bar. (To
remove it, press the jaws until it pops off.)
Rotate the Depth Dial so that some threads show on
the top, 5 or 6 threads or more. Insert
a cartridge into the hand piece. Mount
the handpiece inserting the drive bar into the
handpiece as you go. Position the wash-out area of the
cartridge face-front. Thread onto the
machine by the connector Finger
Nut on the handpiece.
Make adjustments to suit your
tattooing style by:
A) turning the Depth Dial to
change the position of the
cartridge and/or
B) re-setting the stroke-length on the
top with the Swashplate.

Cheap single knob supplies with heaps of ripple &

The
swashplate mechanism that drives the needle action is a very
efficient means to convert the rotational motion
of the
electric motor to the reciprocating motion of the needle
producing an approximate advantage of 15:1.
The swashplate delivers
a sine wave motion - constant needle velocity -
throughout the cycle producing a smooth
non-stopping
continuous motion as compared to the stop and start of
conventional crank, cam (2-dimension) and coils.
Only the swashplate can
make use of all 3-dimension axes to create the natural fluid
cyclic reciprocating action
that produces a constant
"brush-like" artistry feel experienced by fine art painting.

The motor will run in either direction
but Craig Wyeth says "It likes CLOCKWISE direction."
